Women’s History Month began as Women’s History Week in Santa Rosa, CA in 1978. Eventually, in 1987, Congress passed legislation to officially recognize March as Women’s History Month. It’s a month dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the contributions of women to our society & culture. From famous household names to the lesser known ones, this national holiday gives us a chance to reflect on all the important women who lead the way for change.
